Dunham Massey Ice Cream Farm in Altrincham has been named one of the UK's best pumpkin patches, ranking fourth in a new list shared by The AA. The attraction, a short drive from Liverpool, was previously visited by influencer Molly-Mae Hague, who called it one of the "one of the best days in October!!!".

Ranking and scores

The AA analysed 83 of the UK's most searched-for pumpkin patches, scoring them on factors including October Google searches, review ratings, Instagram and TikTok popularity, adult entry price and whether pumpkins are grown on site. Dunham Massey Ice Cream Farm scored 60.21, with a 4.5-star rating, 2,006 TikTok hashtags and 22,200 October Google searches.

The site carries over 30,000 pumpkins grown on site, giving visitors plenty of options to consider.

Tickets and attractions

Tickets for the farm are £6 per car or walk-in group, and include access to the pumpkin patch, picking your own pumpkins where they are priced by size, indoor and outdoor seating, the onsite ice cream parlour and cafe, and street food vendors on the weekend. The attraction is around a 50-minute drive from Liverpool city centre.

A new attraction for this year is The Spooky Maze, which is becoming an increasingly popular attraction at Dunham Massey. Handmade pumpkins and autumnal gifts are available at Vintage Angel Design.

The pumpkin patch opened on September 26 and runs daily from 12pm to 5pm. Last year, social media and Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague visited the pumpkin patch with her daughter Bambi.

Another nearby option

Another pumpkin patch a short drive from Liverpool that made the list is Kenyon Hall Farm, which scored 58.52 with 60,500 October Google searches, a 4.5-star rating and 5,000 Instagram hashtags.

Kenyon Hall Farm has already started taking bookings for its Pumpkin Festival this year. The farm will be open for pumpkin picking from Saturday, September 26 to Saturday, October 31. Currently, all weekend and half term dates are fully booked, but there is still availability for mid-week dates throughout October, including after-school slots.

Visitors to Kenyon Hall Farm can also expect photo opportunities, new interactive elements, seasonal treats in the cafe, and farm shop, pumpkin gift shop and free playground. Entry is £3.95 per person, with children under 18 months free. Pumpkins start at £2 for the smallest sizes and range up to £10 or more for the largest varieties.
