Flight Cancellation After Six-Hour Wait
The 30-year-old mother-of-three had been in the United States supporting her husband and the England team, who secured a third-place finish in the tournament by defeating France. However, her return journey turned into a nightmare when her flight was cancelled after she and her kids sat on the plane for six hours, stuck behind a queue of 30 other aircraft waiting to take off.
According to Megan, the cancellation occurred because the flight crew had exceeded their legal flight time limits. She took to social media on Sunday, July 19, to share her frustration, posting updates about the chaotic scenes in the terminal, which was littered with sleeping travellers and baggage reclaim stations.
Second Flight Delays and Economy Seating
After the initial cancellation, Megan managed to book another flight, but it did not depart for another six hours. By 4 a.m., she admitted on social media that she was 'ready to join these sleepy vibes' and eventually gave in to sleep on the airport floor with her children. To keep warm in the 'freezing' terminal, she purchased an 'I heart NY' hoodie.
When the second flight finally boarded, Megan and her family were seated in economy class. Unfortunately, their travel woes continued as the plane was stuck on the runway for an additional two hours due to a 'missing part,' as Megan claimed.
