The Manchester Half Marathon takes place this Sunday, with tens of thousands of runners set to tackle the 13.1-mile course through Greater Manchester. Around 32,000 people are expected to participate this year, up from the 22,500 who took part last year.
The route starts and ends in Old Trafford, passing through Chorlton, Sale and Stretford. Spectators will line the streets, and cheer zones and live DJs will provide entertainment along the way.
Start times and waves
Runners will be assigned a coloured bib depending on their start wave, which determines when they cross the starting line. Participants can move back to a later wave but cannot move forward to an earlier one.
The wheelchair elite races go first, followed by male and female elite runners alongside White Bib participants at 9.05am. Red bib runners start at 9.10am, with subsequent waves every nine minutes.
