Tram Works Disruptions
Until Sunday, major tram works mean no trams running through the city centre. The Altrincham, Eccles, and Trafford Park lines are suspended, while East Didsbury and Airport lines terminate at Firswood. Replacement bus services operate between Exchange Square and Rochdale, Bury and Piccadilly, and Piccadilly and Ashton-under-Lyne.
Hand Luggage Reminders
Passengers must follow Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) rules: liquids no larger than 100ml, no gun-shaped items including toys, and items with lithium batteries (power banks, vapes, tablets) must be in cabin bags. Last week, nearly 100 prohibited items were removed from hand luggage in a single morning at Terminal 2 security, including a gun-shaped whiskey decanter, yoghurt pots, and a leg massager.
