Manchester Airport has published a list of delayed and cancelled flights for Friday, August 14, as the airport experiences a particularly busy summer period. Last month, the northern travel hub welcomed more than 3.3 million passengers, making July the second busiest travel month ever recorded by the airport. This figure was also 2.4 per cent higher than the same month in 2025.
Busy Summer and Popular Destinations
So far this summer, Antalya in Turkey and Palma in Mallorca have proved to be the most popular destinations, with Palma set to be the top destination overall this summer. Millions of passengers are expected to pass through the airport during the school holidays.
Passengers are being urged to follow guidance to ensure their journeys go as smoothly as possible, including arriving at the airport at least two hours ahead of their scheduled flight time. This allows time for check-in and security. Guidance on how to get hand and hold baggage through security unchallenged has also been issued, as extra bag checks can be one of the biggest hold-ups.
