Manchester Airport welcomed more than 3.3 million passengers in July, with many more expected before the school break ends in September. The airport has issued guidance for travellers flying in the coming weeks.
Popular destinations and passenger numbers
So far this summer, Antalya in Turkey and Palma in Mallorca have been the most popular destinations, with Palma set to be the top destination overall. July was the airport's second-busiest month on record, with passenger numbers 2.4% higher than in July 2025, just below the 3.5 million served in August last year.
Travel advice for passengers
Passengers are advised to arrive at least two hours before their flight, and three hours for short-haul. Early arrival allows time for check-in and security, and helps avoid missing flights due to hold-ups. The airport also warns that banned items like liquids over 100ml, multi-tools, and large squishy toys in hand baggage, or lithium battery packs in hold baggage, can cause delays.
