Tickets for the Mayor of London's annual New Year's Eve fireworks display go on sale at midday on October 23. The first batch, which represents the majority of tickets, is released on this date, with a smaller final batch available nearer the event.
How to Buy Tickets
Tickets are sold exclusively through Ticketmaster, and only these tickets will be accepted. Tickets purchased through other vendors or outlets will not be valid. Each ticket grants access to designated viewing areas, and entry is strictly prohibited without one. Reselling is strictly prohibited, but an authorised method is available through the Ticketmaster Fan-to-Fan Resale platform. To prepare for the rush, attendees are advised to create a Ticketmaster account in advance.
Ticket Prices and Viewing Zones
Ticket prices are £20 and £35 for Londoners, depending on the viewing area selected. For those living outside the capital, tickets cost £40 and £55. The higher-rate tickets provide access to Category A viewing areas, including Waterloo Bridge, Westminster Bridge, and Victoria Embankment, while lower-rate tickets access Belvedere Road and Albert Embankment. A postcode verification process, based on the card used to book, is part of the booking process.
The event features six colour-coded viewing zones. Blue covers Victoria Embankment from Westminster Bridge to Golden Jubilee Footbridge. Pink provides access to Waterloo Bridge. White provides access to Westminster Bridge. Red covers Victoria Embankment from Golden Jubilee Footbridge to Temple Avenue. Green covers the area behind the London Eye. Orange, an accessible viewing area, covers Albert Embankment, river side of St Thomas's Hospital. Ticket holders can pick their zone if tickets are available, but movement between zones is not permitted.
Event Details and Tips
Vantage points open from around 8pm on December 31, though official timings have not yet been shared, and there is usually a last entry time. Attendees are advised to eat before arriving, as vendor lines can be long and prices steep. Small quantities of alcoholic beverages are permitted, with previous years allowing two cans of beer or wine per person and banning glass bottles.
If tickets appear sold out, staying on the Ticketmaster page may help, as tickets often re-release when transactions are incomplete. The Blue Zone is reportedly the most sought-after for its views over Victoria Embankment, though trees along the Embankment can obstruct views. Arriving early or choosing the White Zone, which offers views next to Big Ben, is recommended. For travel, avoiding Westminster and Waterloo stations and walking from Holborn, Piccadilly Circus, or Tottenham Court Road is advised.
