Jet2 has issued a travel warning for passengers flying to and from Bergerac Airport in France this weekend, as the Tour de France causes road closures and delays. The airline and package holiday provider advised travelers to allow extra time for journeys to and from the airport on Saturday, July 11, when the town serves as the finish line for Stage 8 of the race.
Road Closures and Congestion Expected
In a statement on its website, Jet2 said: “We wanted to let you know that the Tour de France will be taking place in Bergerac on Saturday 11th July 2026. As a result, road closures and increased traffic are expected around Bergerac and the airport. We recommend allowing additional time to travel to/from the airport and planning your journey in advance.”
The airport confirmed that the final stretch of the route will be closed to traffic from 12.30pm to 7.30pm local time. Passengers are urged to check the Bergerac Airport website for further details on road closures.
Peak Summer Travel Season
The warning comes as the peak summer travel season begins, with school holidays approaching. The Tour de France started on July 4 and comprises 21 stages, culminating in Paris on Sunday, July 26, along the Champs-Élysées.
Jet2 urged passengers to plan ahead and allow extra time, whether they are flying, picking someone up, or accompanying a passenger.
