Jet2 has confirmed a check-in rule at 12 UK airports that lets passengers with flights before midday check in and drop off their luggage during a four-and-a-half-hour window the evening before travel. Normally, passengers must arrive at least two hours before departure and queue at check-in desks to get boarding passes and drop bags. But the budget airline offers a twilight check-in service at select airports, allowing passengers to complete the process the night before, making the morning less stressful.
How the twilight service works
Passengers can save time on the day of their flight by heading straight to security on arrival, bypassing long check-in queues. The service is only available for flights departing before midday from one of 12 UK airports. Eligible passengers can use the free twilight service between 4:30pm and 9pm the evening before, dropping bags within that window.
Passengers must also check in online any time from 28 days up to 24 hours before the flight via Jet2's website or app. Explaining the process, Jet2 said: “Check in online. You need to do this no later than 24 hours before your flight, but to make sure you don’t miss out, we recommend you check in as soon as online check-in opens, 28 days before you travel.”
Bag drop and security
“Drop your bags at the airport. One person in your party can drop off up to six people's bags. Simply take your luggage to the airport between 16:30-21:00 the evening before your flight. Don't forget your boarding passes and passports!”
“Sail straight through to security. On the morning of your flight, bypass check-in and head to security. Relax and enjoy your getaway!”
Airports offering twilight check-in
The 12 UK airports where Jet2's twilight check-in is available seven days a week for passengers flying before midday are: Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow International, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, London Gatwick, London Luton, London Stansted, Manchester, and Newcastle.
