Dunham Massey Ice Cream Farm in Altrincham has been named one of the best pumpkin patches in the UK, ranking fourth in a new list shared by The AA. The attraction scored 60.21 out of 100, placing it in the top five of 83 of the UK's most searched-for pumpkin patches.
The ranking was compiled by researchers who analysed October Google searches, review ratings, Instagram and TikTok popularity, adult entry price and whether pumpkins are grown on site. Each site was given a score out of five.
Top five ranking and scores
Hatter's Farm in Essex took the top spot with a score of 66.15, followed by Doddington Hall in Lincolnshire (65.22) and Stockeld Park in Yorkshire (60.47). Dunham Massey Ice Cream Farm followed closely with 60.21, and Kenyon Hall Farm rounded out the top five with 58.52.
The Dunham Massey site has a 4.5-star rating and 2,006 TikTok hashtags, the highest of the top five, alongside 22,200 October Google searches. Around 30,000 pumpkins are grown on site.
Visiting details and new addition
Tickets are £6 per car and include access to the patch, pick-your-own pumpkins priced by size, and indoor and outdoor seating. This year, the site has added a Spooky Maze, which also offers visitors a glimpse of the farm's highland cows.
Visitors can stop by the ice cream parlour for seasonal flavours, or grab a pizza, toastie or a hot drink. The pumpkin patch opened on September 26 and the farm opens daily from 12pm to 5pm.
Last year, social media star Molly-Mae Hague visited the patch with her daughter Bambi, telling followers it was one of the "one of the best days in October!!!".
Kenyon Hall Farm, near Greater Manchester, scored 58.52 with 60,500 October Google searches, a 4.5-star rating and 5,000 Instagram hashtags. Entry starts at £3.95, with thousands of own-grown pumpkins across around 50 varieties.
