Cunard's Queen Anne is set to return to Liverpool today, Wednesday, June 17, marking her fourth visit to the city. The luxury cruise liner first entered service on May 3, 2024, when she departed Southampton on her maiden voyage to Lisbon.
A month later, she was officially named during a historic ceremony on Liverpool's waterfront, featuring performances by Andrea Bocelli and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. As part of her 12-night British Isles cruise, Queen Anne is expected to arrive in Liverpool at around 8.30am.
She will remain in the city for approximately 12 hours before departing from the Liverpool Cruise Terminal at 8.30pm. The cruise ends back at Southampton on Sunday, June 21. To celebrate her visit, Mersey Ferries has confirmed a series of special cruises, allowing visitors to get an incredible view of the 1,058ft vessel up close.
Visitors can go on board one of Mersey Ferries' 50-minute River Explorer Cruises. As well as getting a view of Liverpool's world-famous waterfront from the deck, passengers will get to see the Cunard ship as she is docked in the city.
Passengers can also experience a traditional afternoon tea experience on selected River Explorer Cruises, costing £32 per person or £38 with a glass of Prosecco. The experience includes a boxed afternoon tea including finger sandwiches, a selection of savoury bites, scones and an assortment of sweet treats all with unlimited tea, coffee and soft drinks (vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available).
Afternoon tea will be available on the 11am, 12noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm River Explorer Cruises on Wednesday, June 17. Passengers must board at Liverpool Gerry Marsden (Pier Head) Ferry Terminal. For passengers wanting to experience Queen Anne's departure, there will be a special Farewell Cruise departing from Seacombe at 7.30pm and the Pier Head at 7.45pm.
On this two-hour cruise, passengers can enjoy expert commentary on board from a Blue Badge Guide and live music from local artist Callum McMorran. The full list of cruises visiting Liverpool in 2026 was revealed at the start of March. Liverpool Cruise Port is expecting around 250,000 passengers during a record-breaking season for the city. Disney Dream, Cunard's Queen Anne and MSC Preziosa are just some of the liners that will be in the city's cruise terminal in 2026. Fred. Olsen's Bolette will be at the terminal 26 times this year, offering a number of cruises such as a Mediterranean Island tour, as well as a trip around Ireland's coastline and more.
General manager of GPH UK Cruise Ports, John Mawer, said 2026 marked a "huge milestone for the port and for our city".
