In an astonishing case of survival and desperation, a man from Colorado has been arrested after allegedly flying to Hawaii concealed within the landing gear compartment of a commercial aircraft.
The FBI reported that the individual, identified as 26-year-old from Colorado Springs, was discovered on the tarmac at Kahului Airport on Maui last Sunday, 20th April. His incredible journey began at Denver International Airport.
A Perilous and Near-Impossible Journey
The man managed to survive a flight of approximately 2,000 miles over the Pacific Ocean, enduring extreme cold and thin air at high altitude. Surviving such a journey is considered extremely rare and highly dangerous.
Authorities confirmed the stowaway had no ticket, no identification, and no money on his person upon arrival. He was immediately taken into custody by local police.
FBI Investigation Underway
The FBI's Honolulu field office has taken lead on the investigation into the major security breach. Officials are working to determine precisely how the man evaded multiple layers of security at Denver's airport to access the restricted area and climb into the aircraft's wheel well.
This incident has raised serious questions about airport security protocols and the resilience of the human body in extreme conditions.
