President Donald Trump has revealed that being called 'dumb' is the insult he finds most intolerable, surpassing labels such as 'tyrant' or 'dictator'. Speaking at a rally in New York on Friday, the 79-year-old said he decided to take a cognitive test to silence critics who questioned his mental sharpness.
'They hit me with a bad one: He’s a dumb person. D-U-M, not the B,' Trump told supporters at Rockland Community College. He recounted a conversation with his doctor after critics raised concerns about his mental acuity earlier this month. 'I said, “Doctor, I don’t mind being called a brilliant tyrant dictator, but I don’t want to be called dumb.”'
Trump said the doctor recommended a cognitive test, which he described in detail. 'The first question was: you have a bear, a snake, an elephant, and a horse. Name the horse. That’s the horse,' he said, acting out the exchange. He added that later questions became more difficult, including a complex arithmetic problem.
Trump is expected to undergo another cognitive evaluation on Monday at Walter Reed Hospital as part of a medical and dental checkup, his fourth publicised examination since returning to office. He has previously boasted about passing the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), a screening tool for cognitive impairment.
Meanwhile, Trump has frequently mocked former President Joe Biden over age-related concerns while insisting that he remains in strong health.
