Despite heavy rain in East Kilbride on Sunday, August 9, Claremont Rambling Club members and visitors enjoyed constant sunshine during their walks in the beautiful scenery of Perthshire.
Walks in the Braes o' Killiekrankie
After a brief coffee and breakfast stop at Dobbies in Perth, the club bus travelled on to Pitlochry, where walkers split into two groups as usual.
The main walk of nine miles was mainly on forest paths, along the shores of Loch Faskally, and then following the River Garry as far as the dramatic Pass of Killiekrankie with its Soldier's Leap and Visitor Centre.
Alternative route and refreshments
The alternative walk of six miles followed the same route as far as Garry Bridge. Both walks then returned to Pitlochry for well-earned refreshments before heading back to East Kilbride.
