Hajduk Split manager Gonzalo Garcia has said he will assess Celtic target Niko Sigur's 'mental situation' before deciding whether to pick him for what is likely to be his final game for the club. The Hoops face competition from Toulouse, who have joined the race for the Canadian international.
Sigur left out of squad
Sigur was omitted from Hajduk's matchday squad for their weekend win over NK Osijek by Garcia. Celtic have been long-term admirers of the World Cup star, but now face competition from the French club.
Hajduk have a vital second leg of their UEFA Conference League play-off against Polish side Rakow Czestochowa this week. Sigur played the full game in the first leg in Croatia.
Physical and mental check
Garcia will assess whether Sigur is in the right frame of mind to play, after it was previously reported he was suffering with a slight injury. He said: "With regards to Niko Sigur, we will have to look at both his physical and mental situation before the second leg. But we need everyone to be available and I need everyone to fight for each other."
Askou's Toulouse have entered the race to sign the 22-year-old, after the Danish boss saw his new charges lose his first game in Ligue 1 to Lyon.
