November is turning out to be one of the best months for travel in 2026, according to Expedia's Autumn Travel Outlook report. The research shows that for those not tied to school holiday dates, prices drop in many spots that remain warm and sunny.
Cheaper Stays and Flights
International stays on Expedia are, on average, 10% cheaper in November than in summer, making it a prime time for savvy travellers. Hotel rates fall by around 7% during the autumn, with the biggest savings found in destinations like the Algarve and the Greek Islands.

Top Destinations for November
Affordable destinations include Benidorm, Alicante, and Istanbul. Luxembourg emerged as the fastest-growing autumn destination, followed by Sarandë in Albania, Budva in Montenegro, and Ljubljana in Slovenia. For staycations, Stirling was the top trending destination, followed by Harrogate, Durham, Norwich, and the Cotswolds.
In Europe, the Canaries enjoy temperatures up to 24C, while Cyprus averages around 22C. For the Greek Islands, larger destinations like Crete have hotels open longer, while smaller islands often close for winter. Malta offers around 21C in November, ideal for exploring Valletta or the Blue Grotto.
Long-Haul and Best Travel Dates
November kicks off the best months to visit the Caribbean, including Barbados and St Lucia. In Australia, southern hotspots like Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth have sunnier weather, while the north enters its rainy season. Marrakech in Morocco averages 23C, warm enough for outdoor exploring.
For cheap and quiet days abroad, the cheapest days to fly are the 27th, with the 18th and 24th being the quietest. The cheapest days for hotel stays are the 4th and 18th, while the 18th and 24th are the quietest. For UK staycations, the quietest days to fly are the 18th and 25th, with the 9th and 29th being the cheapest. The cheapest hotel days are the 8th and 22nd, and the quietest are the 10th and 30th.
Avoid the 11th, 18th, and 19th November, which had some of the most expensive days to fly internationally and domestically. November 1 was tipped as the most expensive day for a hotel stay in the UK.
