The Blackpool Airshow returns this weekend, Saturday August 8 and Sunday August 9, featuring an impressive line-up of flying machines and talented pilots. Thousands are expected to descend on the seaside town for the two-day event.
Headline Acts and Displays
This year's line-up includes the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, featuring the iconic Spitfire, Hurricane and C-47 Dakota, alongside the RAF Typhoon display team. The Red Arrows will not be taking part this year, but spectators can still enjoy the Red Devils, the official parachute display team of the British Army, founded in 1979. The team of 15 highly-skilled paratroopers will deliver an adrenaline-pumping performance.
Visitors can also admire aerobatic performances from XtremeAir, an aircraft designed for competitive aerobatic flying, capable of tumbles, rolls, loops and gravity-defying manoeuvres. The Aerobatics Wingwalkers will also take to the skies, performing acrobatics and handstands while strapped atop Boeing Stearman biplanes.
Air Show Village
The Air Show Village, open from 12pm to 7pm each day, is located along the promenade and on the Tower Festival Headland. It features traders and vendors selling merchandise, along with exhibits and food and drink stalls.
