A £2.5m slide park is set to open in Warrington, creating close to 40 jobs and bringing a new era of family entertainment to the North West. Slidie Sliderson, described as "the UK's first wholly owned and operated hybrid slide park", opens its doors on Friday, October 23, at the Cockhedge Retail Park.
The venue combines giant dry slides, immersive attractions, competitive social gaming and food and drink under one roof. It will create 38 new jobs and offer something for every generation, from toddlers taking their first slide through to teenagers, families and adults looking for a unique day or night out.
Innovation and guest experience
Chris Hayes, CEO of Rocafella Leisure Group, who are behind the new slide park, said: "We've spent the last three years asking one simple question: what would the world's best family entertainment venue look like? Every decision we've made has been driven by innovation, guest experience and doing things differently.
"Slidie Sliderson isn't just another family entertainment centre. We've created a destination that combines world-class attractions with amazing food, technology and experiences that families simply can't find anywhere else.
"This is just the beginning. Warrington is the first step in an ambitious expansion plan that already includes London and various UK destinations, followed by Dubai."
Attractions and exclusive debuts
Guests can expect giant slide experiences, an extensive soft play, interactive sports attractions, batting cages, AR darts, shuffleboard, pool, table tennis, arcade games, and street food vendors. The spectacular slides have been developed in partnership with leading UK attractions manufacturer Airquee, with both teams working together over the past three years to design, test and build the attractions from scratch.
The slides need no water, so the fun runs all year round, whatever the Warrington weather. The venue will also become home to two exclusive attractions making their debut in Warrington: Strike Lab™, a football arcade, and Gloww Lab, an AI entertainment studio.
Founder's background
Chris has spent more than 15 years creating and developing new leisure concepts. His journey began with Jump-INC, one of the UK's first trampoline parks, which grew into a small chain before being sold. He then opened Total Ninja in Manchester, which expanded into Ninja Warrior UK parks across the country following ITV's involvement.
Chris later worked with strategic partner Hasbro to develop Nerf Action Xperience and also launched reBel Social, a bowling and competitive socialising venue. He said his latest venture grew from a simple idea: "It's impossible to go down a slide without a smile on your face."
