Liverpool John Lennon Airport is encouraging travellers to visit an “incredible” Christmas market destination this winter, with December flights available from £22 one way.
Prague is a year-round favourite, but the Czech capital is especially popular at Christmas, drawing visitors with its architecture, history and culture, as well as its festive markets. Airport bosses have been promoting the destination on social media.
Airport promotes Prague on social media
A post on X, formerly Twitter, reads: “The festive season is almost upon us! Have you thought about getting a winter break in? Why not try Prague, with its incredible Christmas markets. Fly from Liverpool with easyJet and Jet2”.
On its website, the airport highlights the John Lennon Wall at Grand Priory Square, Mala Strana, noting it has been covered in Lennon-inspired graffiti art for more than 30 years and is owned by the Knights of Malta, who ensure the street art’s protection and maintenance.
December flights and prices
Prague’s Christmas markets spread across much of the city, offering festive food and drink, and its famous Old Town Square Christmas tree. December flights start from £22 one way, with the journey taking just over two hours.
A flight on December 31 was found departing Liverpool with easyJet at 4pm, landing in Prague at 7.10pm, at that price. While this is after Christmas, many of the markets operate into January. Flights on earlier December dates start from £29, and return flights from £30.
There is a one-hour time difference, and the currency used in Prague is the Czech koruna (CZK).
