The terrifying video, captured by shaken residents, shows churning brown water surging through streets and smashing into homes as panicked locals scramble to safety.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology issued urgent tsunami warnings for coastal areas after the powerful quake hit Mindanao island at 10:37pm local time. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center later confirmed waves up to 3 metres high had been observed.
Residents Flee to Higher Ground
Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos as people abandoned their homes in the middle of the night, with many carrying children and elderly relatives to evacuation centres. "The water came so fast - we barely had time to grab our important documents," one resident told local media.
