The Met Office has revealed which areas face heavy rain on Wednesday before the next heatwave strikes later in the week. Much of North England and Scotland will be drenched by the evening, weather maps from the forecaster show, with the Midlands and South England escaping the wet weather.
Wednesday's Forecast
The forecast for Wednesday reads: "Cloud and rain across Northern Ireland will spread eastwards into Scotland during the day, with some heavier bursts possible. Elsewhere, it will be largely dry, with variable amounts of cloud."
According to the Met Office maps, a whopping 45 counties across England and Scotland are forecast to receive heavy rain, such as Cumbria, South Yorkshire, and Lanarkshire.
Yellow Rain Warning for Tuesday
Tuesday is also set to be a wintry one, with a yellow rain warning in place from 2pm until 9pm for parts of Scotland. A few places could see 20mm in an hour, and there is a chance that the odd location could see 30-40mm in two to three hours. This may lead to some localised flooding and travel disruption across parts of central Scotland.
