Met Office maps show North East to reach 27C this Wednesday

The North East is set to enjoy warmer weather this week, with Met Office maps indicating temperatures could reach 27°C in some areas on Wednesday, July 29. While southern parts of the UK may see the low 30s and another potential heatwave, the North East will experience highs of 21–27°C.

In Newcastle, highs of 21°C are expected on Monday, July 27, rising to 24°C on Tuesday and 25°C on Wednesday. Bishop Auckland could see 26°C on Wednesday afternoon, while Darlington may reach 27°C.

UK Weather Outlook

The Met Office said: "Many parts of England and Wales are likely to return to the mid to high twenties Celsius early next week, with the potential for temperatures to reach 30°C again in southern and eastern England by Tuesday. Conditions in the southeast could become very warm or locally hot, with the possibility that some locations may once again reach heatwave criteria, potentially making this the fourth heatwave episode of the year for parts of the UK."

For Tuesday to Thursday, the weather experts said: "Though the odd shower cannot be ruled out during the period, most places should hold onto fine weather. Temperatures will creep up slightly, so feeling very warm in lighter winds."

Sunday Night to Monday

Sunday night will bring a mix of clear spells and scattered showers, most dying out overnight, with a mild but breezy night and a minimum temperature of 13°C. Monday may see an isolated light shower, especially in the morning, but most areas will have a fine day with bright or sunny spells, reaching a maximum of 23°C.
