After weeks of record-breaking temperatures and three heatwaves, weather conditions across the UK are about to take a U-turn. WXCharts forecasts rainfall for August 10, with maps showing a 615-mile rain band soaking 88 areas from the Scottish Highlands to Cornwall.

Scotland is expected to be the main focus for showers, with rain scattered across the country, including parts of the Highlands, Central, Aberdeen and Edinburgh. A large chunk of England will also see wet conditions, with the heaviest rain across the North and the Midlands. Parts of Wales and the south will get light rain, but most of that region should escape the rain by evening. Temperatures are also expected to be moderate, potentially ranging in the mid-10s.

The Met Office's long-range forecast also points to rain. It states: "Probably rather changeable to begin this period, with some rain or showers at times, but also the likelihood of some decent drier interludes too."
