Weather maps have shown scorching temperatures hitting the UK again with a blazing hot three days on the way. The high temperatures come after heatwaves have blasted the UK and mainland Europe, with record highs recorded.
Saturday, August 1: Hottest in the South
On Saturday, August 1, maps show dark red, indicating heat. At 6pm, huge parts of the south of England will see around 30C to 32C. In London, temperatures will be hottest at 32C, according to the chart. In the midlands, temperatures will range from 26C to 31C, it also suggests, and as for the north of England, there will be a variation of 22C to 27C.
Over towards Wales, things will be feeling cooler along the coast, with around 24C expected, WXCharts says, and Wrexham will be the hottest area with 30C expected. In Scotland, lows of 13C will be seen, with highs of 24C, maps suggest, and in Northern Ireland, it will be around 21C to 24C.
Sunday, August 2: Even Warmer
On Sunday August 2, temperatures will be even warmer, with highs of 34C in the East of England, mapping suggests. Even in the north of England, around 28C will be reached, and it will be slightly cooler in Scotland and Northern Ireland again, with most areas seeing around 20C to 24C, according to the forecast.
Monday, August 3: Slight Dip
On Monday August 3, England will see lows of 21C in the north and highs of 30C in the East of England, and Wales has a range of 18C to 26C, the map shows. Scotland is set for 16C to 23C, and Northern Ireland, 16C to 21C is expected.
What the Met Office Says
The Met Office in its own separate forecast for July 31 to August 9: "Mostly dry away from the north and northwest where scattered showers are expected. There is a small chance that some other western parts could see some rain by the end of the weekend. Temperatures ranging from around average in the NW to warm in the southeast, perhaps becoming very warm in the southeast through the weekend. It will probably become more changeable thereafter, with potential for an area of low pressure to move close to or across the UK early in August. This could bring spells of heavy rain and perhaps some strong winds for a time. It may become more settled again toward the end of the first week of August."
