UK heatwave ends with sharp 23C drop in days

Weather maps show that the UK heatwave will end with a dramatic temperature drop of up to 23C in some areas within days. According to WXCharts, temperatures that are set to reach 39C in parts of England on Thursday, August 13, could fall to as low as 16C by Tuesday, August 18.

Scorching heat to be followed by cooler conditions

The latest WXCharts maps indicate highs of around 39C in the coming days, far above the UK average for this time of year. The Midlands, particularly areas around Birmingham, look set to be the worst hit, with temperatures in the high 30s also affecting London, Bristol, and Norwich. Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to be in the 30s in the North of England and Wales, with high 20s in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Just days later, however, temperatures could drop as low as 16C in areas where they were in the high 30s the previous week, marking a staggering 23C difference. This will come as a relief to many struggling to sleep and stay comfortable in the excessive heat.
