Thunderstorms have been forecast for Liverpool as high temperatures are set to return this week. Conditions have cooled in recent days, with muggy weather replacing the sunshine of the recent heatwave. Liverpudlians woke to light rain on July 5, with highs expected to reach 21°C that afternoon, according to BBC Weather.

Sunny Conditions Return Midweek

Similar highs of 21°C are predicted for Monday and Tuesday. Sunny conditions should return by Tuesday evening, with Wednesday and Thursday set to be fine and sunny, reaching highs of 25°C. Friday is predicted to be the hottest day this week, with temperatures potentially reaching 29°C in the city.

Thundery Showers Expected Friday

However, rain is also predicted for Friday late morning, with forecasters expecting thundery showers to arrive around 3pm and continue into the evening. The Met Office says high pressure will prevail across northern England, bringing 'dry and very warm weather' for the first half of July, with 'the odd localised thunderstorms at times'.
