The Met Office has confirmed that Liverpool will see an even hotter weekend than initially forecast, with temperatures soaring to 34°C on Friday, July 10, and 33°C on Saturday, July 11. The UK is currently in its third heatwave, with temperatures climbing to 30°C throughout the week. The hot conditions are set to persist into the weekend, bringing a sunny and very warm spell to Merseyside.
Revised Forecast Brings Higher Temperatures
Originally, Friday was expected to be the peak of the heatwave, with a maximum of 33°C. However, the latest forecast has increased this to a scorching 34°C. The Met Office's outlook for Liverpool states: "Early mist and coastal low cloud will quickly burn away this morning to leave a dry and sunny day. Feeling hot with high levels of UV expected. Maximum temperature 34°C."
Saturday Also Exceeds Expectations
The weather was anticipated to cool down slightly on Saturday, but the Met Office now confirms that temperatures will again exceed 30°C, reaching a maximum of 33°C. The Met Office said: "Another dry and sunny day for much of the region, although some cloud and a few spots of rain may move into Cumbria during the afternoon. Feeling very warm. Maximum temperature 33 °C."
Health Alert and Relief Ahead
The north west of England is currently under an amber heat health alert due to the extreme weather. However, some relief is expected next week. The Met Office's outlook for next week states: "Staying dry and settled throughout Sunday and early next week with plenty of sunshine. Remaining very warm although an easterly breeze will bring a little relief to the hot conditions."
