Temperatures in London are forecast to reach 26C on Friday, according to an upgraded outlook from the Met Office, in what could be one of the final warm spells of the year.
Forecasters are predicting an even warmer week than previously expected as high pressure settles across southern parts of the UK, bringing plenty of dry and sunny weather to the capital.
Temperatures are expected to sit comfortably above the seasonal average of around 20C.
No official heatwave
Despite the summer-like feel, the spell will fall short of an official heatwave. For a heatwave to be declared, temperatures must reach at least 28C for three consecutive days.
Tuesday will continue to see sunshine for the rest of the day before a very mild evening, with temperatures not expected to drop below 20C.
The warm and largely dry conditions will continue into Wednesday, although there is a small chance of a heavy afternoon shower, which could briefly bring strong winds.
Outlook for the rest of the week
Thursday is expected to be another bright day following a chilly start, with temperatures rising throughout the day.
By Friday, temperatures could reach 26C, although increasing clouds will signal a change in conditions, with rain showers expected to arrive overnight.
It could be an opportunity for Londoners to squeeze in some outdoor activities before autumn firmly takes hold in the coming weeks.
