Two people have been injured and six homes are understood to be on fire as a huge wildfire spreads through Stourbridge. Around 100 firefighters are tackling the blaze, which was reported in the Racecourse Lane area at approximately 1.30pm.
Firefighters battle flames across roads
Flames can be seen ripping through buildings, with thick plumes of smoke rising into the sky. The fire is near a golf course and also affects Ounty John Lane and Stourbridge Road. Emergency services have increased their resources at the scene.
West Midlands Fire Service said: "Flames are spreading across roads in places. A number of properties in the surrounding area are understood to be experiencing power issues."
Residents advised to stay indoors
The fire service urged: "Please keep doors and windows closed as a precaution and avoid the area." The fire is estimated to involve an area of around 40 acres, including a wood.
