Poland has scrambled a military helicopter following Russian strikes on targets in the western part of Ukraine, according to the Operational Command of the Armed Forces in Poland.
The announcement, made on X just before 2pm today, said the aircraft is “monitoring the situation and ensuring safety”. The command stated that, in connection with the activity of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles conducting strikes on targets in western Ukraine, the readiness of selected forces and assets of the Republic of Poland’s Air Defense System has been raised.
Preventive measures over Polish airspace
A military helicopter is operating in the airspace, carrying out tasks related to monitoring the situation and ensuring safety. The actions are described as preventive in nature and are aimed at ensuring the safety of Polish airspace, particularly in areas adjacent to those affected by Russian strikes.
The Operational Command of the Armed Forces constantly monitors the situation, and the subordinate forces and assets remain ready for immediate response.
