A migrant has died after an alleged attempt to paraglide into Ceuta, the Spanish enclave that saw a mass crossing attempt by nearly 60,000 people last month.
Civil Guard sources reported that officers recovered the body of the young sub-Saharan migrant after the incident near Ceuta’s northern border. He had tried to reach the Spanish territory by paragliding and attempting to land in an area near the border but lost control of the paraglider and fell into the sea.

The migrant was spotted paragliding the mountains around Benzu at around 8am local time (6am GMT). Police raced to the scene in the hope he was still alive but found that he had died.
The incident comes just weeks after nearly 60,000 people crossed the border between Morocco and Ceuta in a single day, sparking fears of new mass crossings.
