Iran claims capture of US submarine near Strait of Hormuz

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGC Navy) has claimed to have captured a high-tech unmanned underwater US submarine near the Strait of Hormuz, describing the vessel as "a prize of war."

IRGC statement on the capture

In a statement released on Tuesday, the IRGC Navy said its forces had "trapped one of the most modern, smart and unmanned submarines of the terrorist U.S. Army at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz during a complex intelligence and operational action at dawn today."
