An easyJet flight from Manchester Airport to Copenhagen was forced to divert to Newcastle shortly after take-off on Tuesday (July 28) due to a passenger needing urgent medical attention.

The flight, EZY2237, departed Manchester as normal but made an 'urgent' diversion to Newcastle International Airport. Emergency services were on standby as the aircraft landed.

Passenger Received Medical Care

Once the passenger was handed over to medical professionals, the flight continued its journey to Copenhagen. A spokesperson for easyJet said: "Flight EZY2237 from Manchester to Copenhagen yesterday diverted to Newcastle, due to a customer onboard requiring urgent medical attention."
