Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has released an image showing the mangled wreckage of a Ferrari 296 supercar after a crash on the M602 in Salford. The driver lost control on the motorway as heavy downpours hit the region and was thankfully unhurt.

The collision happened on the M602 through Salford, near to Eccles. The retail cost of Ferrari 296s can reach £300,000. A photograph posted by police to social media showed the extent of the damage to the car.
Police urge drivers to be cautious
Posting the image to X, formerly Twitter, GMP's traffic unit urged motorists to drive to the conditions, especially during periods of heavy rain. In the post, GMP said: "Unfortunately there's one less Ferrari 296 in the world this morning after the driver of this one lost control in the wet on the M602 in Salford. No injuries luckily but please drive to the conditions for everyone's sake."
No details on the crash itself, or the driver, have been released. No further details have been revealed.
