Sky Glass Air TV Deal: Get 4K Smart TV for Just 14p a Day in Winter Sale
Sky's 14p-a-day TV deal praised for 'vivid clarity'

Sky has launched a major winter sale, slashing the price of its latest smart television to less than the cost of a daily newspaper, with experts praising the set for delivering impressive picture quality despite its budget-friendly cost.

A Standout Winter Sale Offer

The broadcaster's 2026 winter promotion, which began earlier this month, features discounts across its TV and broadband range. The most eye-catching deal is for the Sky Glass Air, the newest iteration of Sky's own smart TV, which comes with built-in Sky channels and popular streaming apps, positioning it as a direct competitor to Freely models.

Normally priced at £6 per month when spread over a 48-month term, customers can now secure the 43-inch model for just £4.25 monthly if they order before February 11. This equates to roughly 14 pence per day. Larger 55-inch and 65-inch screens are available for an additional cost.

There is one important condition for new customers: the TV must be bundled with a Sky TV package, such as Essential TV or Ultimate TV. These packages provide access to up to 140 channels and include complimentary subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+.

Tech Specs That Impress the Experts

Launched in June as a slimmer, more affordable alternative to the second-generation Sky Glass, the Air model operates via Wi-Fi, eliminating the need for a satellite dish and simplifying setup. According to a report by the Daily Record, the Air sacrifices some premium features to achieve its lower price point.

However, technology experts argue that the trade-offs are minimal for most viewers. Nick Baker from Uswitch tested the Air for three weeks and concluded it was "no lightweight" in terms of its technical capabilities.

"The 4K Quantum Dot panel gives vivid colours and strong clarity for both streaming and live TV," Baker stated in his YouTube review. He highlighted the auto-enhance feature, which adjusts picture and sound settings based on the content, and the range of dedicated modes for sports, movies, and music.

On audio, Baker noted that while the Air lacks the integrated soundbar of its more expensive sibling, it still boasts Dolby audio and a two-speaker stereo system. "I experienced good depth of quality and clear dialogue, so no muffled or tinny sounds," he said.

Considerations for Serious Viewers

The review did point out a potential drawback for home cinema enthusiasts. "If you're used to a more immersive cinema experience, you won't get that with Sky Glass Air," Baker explained, though he added that Dolby Atmos sound can be streamed to a compatible soundbar.

Baker reserved particular praise for the Sky OS interface, which aggregates content from Sky channels and streaming services into one place, learning a user's preferences over time to improve recommendations.

His final verdict was clear: "If you want access to the best TV content in the UK and a sleek, good looking TV that delivers a great audiovisual experience at a relatively affordable price, Sky Glass Air is ideal." He suggested that only serious gamers or home cinema puritans might need to consider the pricier Sky Glass Gen 2 model.

For households considering other options, Virgin Media offers broadband and TV bundles from £28.99, while EE has packages starting at £16. Sky customers also have the choice to add extras like Sky Cinema, Sky Sports, TNT Sports, and ad-skipping to their plan.
