Speaking after the flight, Sánchez said she struggled to find words for the experience, saying: 'I don't really have the words for this... I looked out the window and we got to see the moon.' Perry described the trip as 'about making space for future woman' and 'taking up space,' adding that the crew aimed to put the 'ass' in astronaut.
The buildup to the flight focused heavily on appearance. Sánchez commissioned custom space suits and asked: 'Who would not get glam before the flight?' She also mentioned that lash extensions would be flying in the capsule. One former NASA rocket scientist tested her hair and makeup by skydiving in Dubai to ensure it would hold up during the trip.
Commentators at the viewing platform included Kris Jenner and Khloé Kardashian, who described the landing as 'literally so hard to explain right now.' Khloé also noted that one passenger's 92-year-old grandfather 'didn't even have transportation back then,' referring to his era.
