Garron Noone, a TikTok star known for his catchphrase 'Follow me, I'm delicious', has had his social media accounts deleted after facing backlash over a video discussing immigration in Ireland. The Mayo-born comedian, who rose to fame in the past year and appeared on the Late Late Show, had amassed over 1.5 million TikTok followers and a significant Instagram audience before his accounts went offline.
In the controversial video, Noone commented on Conor McGregor's visit to the White House and the MMA fighter's remarks on Irish immigration. Noone acknowledged an immigration issue in Ireland, stating: 'There absolutely is an immigration issue in Ireland. That doesn't mean that people feel like we shouldn't take the refugees that we're able to take.' He added that 'the systems that we have in place are being taken advantage of' and that the government 'continually does not allow people to express their concerns.'
Noone also expressed concerns about safety and quality of life, saying: 'Our towns and especially our cities are becoming much less safe. Now that's not just because of immigration, there's a lot of factors to that.' He warned that suppressing concerns could push people towards 'racism and extremism.'
Following the deletion of his accounts, Noone released a video doubling down on his views, asserting: 'I am not anti-immigration. Absolutely crazy to think that.' He referenced a previous video condemning the far-right after the Dublin riots.
