Filipino TikTok Star Emman Atienza Dies at 19 in Los Angeles

Filipino social media star Emmanuelle 'Emman' Atienza has died at her home in Los Angeles at the age of 19. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed her cause of death as suicide.

Atienza, the daughter of Filipino TV personality Kim Atienza and celebrity entrepreneur Felicia Atienza, had moved to Los Angeles over the summer. Her parents confirmed the news on Instagram, describing her as a source of joy and laughter who openly shared her mental health journey.

With 875,000 followers on TikTok and 225,000 on Instagram, Atienza built a profile around her wealthy lifestyle but also tackled mental health issues and challenged conservative values in the Philippines. She faced backlash in November 2024 after posting a video of a dinner bill amounting to 133,000 Philippine pesos ($2,268), which sparked criticism given the country's average monthly wage.
