A couple from Stalybridge, Tameside, have revealed that their miniature long-haired dachshund, Wilson, is bringing in thousands of pounds a month through social media, helping to fund their £50,000 dream wedding. Shannon Edmondson, 31, and her fiancé Jordon, 33, say their 'fur baby' has become the household's main earner.
Shannon launched Wilson's Instagram account in October 2023, and the couple began monetising it in February 2026. In the past month alone, Wilson generated £4,640 before tax from user-generated content (UGC) and brand deals. Shannon, who previously worked full-time in media, has now reduced her hours to focus on content creation.
The couple estimate they have received around £10,000 worth of gifted items, including a £400 projector, home essentials, and matching pyjamas. They plan their weekends around Wilson's filming schedule, typically recording between 7am and midday when he is in his best mood. Shannon noted, 'We treat him like a baby – everything we do is around what he enjoys.'
Most of the earnings are being saved for their wedding, planned for August 2028 in the Peak District, where Wilson will serve as ring bearer. The couple have already saved £4,000 towards the event. Shannon said, 'It’s building our future, and we get to do it with Wilson. He might not realise it, but he’s making our dream wedding happen.'
