National Lottery App Outage Leaves Thousands Unable to Access Accounts

Thousands of National Lottery customers were locked out of their accounts on Tuesday morning after the mobile app and website experienced a widespread outage. The issue, which began around 6am, left many unable to log in, view tickets, or make purchases.

According to Downdetector, over 1,600 reports were filed, with 51% of users struggling with the app, 38% facing login problems, and 9% reporting website issues. Affected cities included London, Glasgow, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, and Birmingham.

Allwyn, the National Lottery operator, acknowledged the problem on social media, stating: “We are currently aware that players are unable to sign into their accounts. We are looking into this urgently.” The company apologised for the inconvenience and assured customers the issue was being resolved.

One frustrated user commented: “Updated app continually falling over, losing confidence rapidly. You have to ask whether it's even secure anymore.” Another said: “I can't see my tickets or buy a new ticket.” The outage was fully resolved by mid-morning, with the number of reported issues dropping to 176 by 10:40am.
