Gregg Wallace, the former co-presenter of the popular BBC cooking competition MasterChef, has announced plans to host an ambitious 12-hour live cooking show on his TikTok account this Sunday. The programme, titled "Gregg's Kitchen," is scheduled to commence at 10 am and will run continuously, featuring a diverse array of guests and interactive elements for viewers.
Social Media Venture Following BBC Departure
This new venture comes after Wallace was dismissed by the BBC in July 2025 following an extensive investigation into historical allegations of misconduct. The inquiry, which examined incidents primarily occurring between 2005 and 2018, substantiated 45 out of 83 accusations against him. These included claims of inappropriate sexual language and humour, with one allegation involving unwelcome physical contact and others related to being in a state of undress.
Details of the Live Streaming Event
In a promotional video shared on the Facebook page of social media personality Malik Butchers from Wolverhampton, Wallace enthusiastically described the upcoming show. "We are going to be cooking some amazing dishes, we are going to have some incredible guests, lots of cookery, lots of live chat and more importantly lots of very good offers for you to buy on TikTok shop," he stated, highlighting the commercial opportunities integrated into the broadcast.
The event marks a significant shift for Wallace, who began co-presenting MasterChef in 2005 and became a familiar face to millions of viewers. His departure from the BBC was formally announced in November 2024, as he stepped away from his role pending the investigation's outcome.
Response to Misconduct Allegations
Following the review's findings, Wallace issued a public apology, expressing remorse for any distress caused. "I am deeply sorry for any distress caused," he said, adding, "I never set out to harm or humiliate." The investigation concluded that the majority of the substantiated allegations centred on inappropriate sexual language and humour, with a smaller number involving other forms of inappropriate conduct.
Despite the controversy, Wallace is now embracing digital platforms to reconnect with audiences. The 12-hour live show on TikTok represents a bold move into social media content creation, leveraging the platform's interactive features to engage fans directly. With guests like Malik Butchers and promises of exclusive offers, the programme aims to blend entertainment with e-commerce, potentially setting a new trend for live streaming events in the culinary space.
