After months of speculation, the release date for Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox has finally been confirmed. The action RPG, developed by Game Science, will launch on August 20, 2024, the same day as its PlayStation 5 and PC debut.
What to Expect from Black Myth: Wukong
Inspired by the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West, the game follows the legendary Monkey King, Sun Wukong, in a visually stunning and combat-rich adventure. Players can expect:
- Fluid, skill-based combat with magical abilities
- A vast world filled with mythical creatures and bosses
- Multiple weapon types and upgradeable skills
- Breathtaking graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5
Special Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses
Game Science has revealed two special editions alongside the standard release:
- Deluxe Edition – Includes digital artbook and soundtrack
- Collector's Edition – Physical statue, steelbook case, and exclusive in-game items
Pre-orders for all versions will open on June 15, with early buyers receiving a unique weapon skin.
Why the Xbox Release Was Delayed
Initial uncertainty about the Xbox version stemmed from optimization challenges, but developers have confirmed all platforms will now launch simultaneously. This comes as good news for Xbox gamers who feared missing out on one of 2024's most anticipated titles.
