Rick and Morty season 9 has been hailed as the best entry in the animated series in several years, as the new creative team finds its footing. The show weathered the firing of co-creator Justin Roiland, with Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden taking over vocal duties. Showrunner Scott Marder, in charge since season 5, has reinvigorated the writers' room after a turbulent period.
Episode 4, titled 'A Ricker Runs Through It', will premiere on Adult Swim in the US on Sunday 14 June 2026. UK viewers can watch on HBO Max from Monday 15 June. Previous UK broadcasts on Channel 4 have ceased following the launch of HBO Max in the UK.
In the US, the season will be available on HBO Max from 15 June 2026, but until then it is exclusive to Adult Swim. The show's future is assured up to at least season 12.
