Proton VPN Launches on Amazon Fire TV Stick

Proton VPN has officially launched a dedicated app for the Amazon Fire TV Stick, bringing its high-speed, privacy-focused service to the popular streaming device. The app is now available for download from the Amazon Appstore, allowing users to encrypt their internet connection and access geo-restricted content directly from their TV.

According to a tech expert who tested multiple VPNs on a Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Proton VPN offers incredibly fast speeds, making it a strong choice for streaming without buffering. The expert noted that while Surfshark was their top pick for affordability and ease of use, Proton VPN's speeds were among the best tested, easily exceeding the 15 Mbps required for 4K streaming.

The Proton VPN Fire TV app includes key features such as a kill switch, which automatically cuts the internet connection if the VPN drops, preventing accidental exposure of the user's real location. However, some advanced features available on other platforms, like Secure Core routing and NetShield ad blocker, are not yet present in the Fire TV version.

The launch comes as more users seek to protect their privacy on hotel and public Wi-Fi networks while travelling with their Fire TV Stick. A VPN also allows users to connect as if they were back home, enabling access to UK streaming services when abroad. The expert recommends Proton VPN for users who prioritise speed and reliability over additional features.
