Sky Mobile has reduced the price of Apple's iPhone 17 for the first time since its September launch. The 256GB model now costs £24.75 per month on a contract, which works out at roughly 79p per day over a 31-day month. The usual price is £25, so the saving is small but marks the first discount seen on the handset.
Deal details and data allowance
The phone is available in five colours: Lavender, Mist Blue, Sage, Black or White. Sky is selling the deal fast, flagging it as its second-best seller. However, the contract includes only a 100MB data allowance, so heavier users may need a larger package, ranging from £1 for 1GB to £21 for unlimited data.
Shoppers wanting more data could consider a double data deal at Mobiles.co.uk, which offers 200GB for the price of 100GB plus a pair of free AirPods 4. Those earbuds usually cost £169 at the Apple store but come at no extra cost with iD Mobile's £35.99 tariff.
Upfront costs and alternatives
To get the Sky deal, there is a £145 upfront cost unless shoppers choose the £40.99 plan, which has a cheaper £29 upfront. Alternatively, buying the phone outright can be cheaper in the long run, especially when on offer, such as Amazon's £749 price (down from £799).
Features and expert review
The iPhone 17 features a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with Ceramic Shield 2, said to be three times more durable than the iPhone 16. It runs on Apple's A19 Bionic chip, has an all-day battery, Wi-Fi 7 support, and Apple Intelligence features.
