Google has released a new version of its Chrome web browser that fixes 327 security issues, including ten critical vulnerabilities, and all users are urged to ensure their software is up to date.
The update, version 152.0.7977.64 for Linux and 152.0.7977.64/.65 for Windows and Mac, addresses a significant number of flaws that could leave devices exposed to attack.
Critical vulnerabilities flagged
Security researchers at Malwarebytes have highlighted two of the bugs as particularly concerning, noting that both could be triggered by an unprotected user simply visiting a malicious website. Although nobody has been impacted yet, the potential consequences are severe.
If exploited, an attacker could execute arbitrary code on a victim's computer, phone, or other device. This means criminals could run commands or software of their choice, potentially grabbing personal information, installing malware, changing settings, or taking control of the device without the owner's permission.

In a post on its blog, Google said: "Chrome 152.0.7977.64 (Linux) 152.0.7977.64/.65 Windows/Mac contains a number of fixes and improvements." The company also thanked security researchers who worked with them during the development cycle to prevent bugs from reaching the stable channel.
Malwarebytes explained the severity of the issue: "Chrome vulnerabilities that enable remote code execution outside the browser sandbox are particularly valuable to attackers because they can turn a visit to a malicious or compromised website into direct code execution on the underlying operating system, often without requiring additional exploitation steps."
How to update Chrome
Users should check their settings to ensure they are running the latest version. If a device has Chrome 152.0.7977.64 (Linux) or 152.0.7977.64/.65 (Windows/Mac) installed, it is fully up to date. Anything earlier remains a risk and should be updated as soon as possible.
Updating is simple. Click the More menu (three dots), then go to Settings > About Chrome. If an update is available, Chrome will start downloading it automatically. Users then need to restart Chrome to complete the update. Once the correct version is installed, the browser will be safe from these issues.
