The Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 portable power station has been reduced to £398 from £899, saving £501, in a promotion that shoppers have described as a "game changer" for power cuts and camping. The device offers a 1,070Wh capacity, weighs 10.8kg, and uses LiFePO4 battery cells designed to deliver around 4,000 charging cycles. Its Emergency Super Charging mode can take the power station from empty to fully charged in as little as one hour, according to the Mirror.
Bundles and higher-capacity options
Shoppers can also pick up the Explorer 1000 v2 bundled with a 100W solar panel, providing an off-grid charging option without relying on mains electricity. Prices for this bundle start from £539, down from £1,199. The Explorer 1000 v2 offers a 1,500W output.
At the higher end of the range, Jackery's larger power stations and bundles are designed for those needing considerably more power. For example, the 3kWh Solar Bundle Best Seller is currently available for £1,679, down from £2,599. These higher-capacity models are suited to home backup, caravanning and longer off-grid trips, and depending on the model can run essentials such as fridges, lights, Wi-Fi routers and coffee makers for more than 30 hours.
Alternative power stations and customer feedback
Other options include the DJI Power 2000 Portable Power Station, available from Currys for £959, with up to 3,000W of power output and whisper-quiet operation at 29dB. The EcoFlow Delta 3 Max Plus Portable Power Station at Argos costs £1,099 and boasts a 4,000-cycle battery life.
The Jackery range has attracted positive feedback, with one buyer reviewing the Explorer 1000 v2 saying: "First, this item is robust and space-efficient, fitting seamlessly in my workspace... When the power goes out, it becomes a real game changer. I can continue my tasks as if everything is normal, which is quite impressive." Another reviewer described it as a "Very well thought out and designed piece of kit" before adding: "Has helped us out of quite a few situations where power simply wasn't available. Easy to use with oodles of options - especially power saving and fast charging for emergencies."
Not all feedback was positive, with one customer reporting an error code when trying to use the power station, though they noted customer service "so far has been great." Another customer highlighted the flexibility of using the power station with solar panels, saying: "Great item. Allows me to put my solar panels in different places whilst keeping the battery pack inside."
