Kojima's OD Knock Screenshot Sparks PT Comparisons

Hideo Kojima has unveiled the first screenshot of his upcoming horror game, OD: Knock, and the response from fans is unanimous: it looks like a spiritual successor to the long-lost PT demo. The image, exclusively revealed in Entertainment Weekly, depicts a first-person view of a dimly lit corridor with faded yellow walls. The only illumination comes from the soft glow of a CRT television and a faint sconce above, casting just enough light to reveal unsettling details.

Eerie Corridor Hides Multiple Scares

At the end of the corridor, a doorway reveals a blonde-haired woman staring from the darkness, likely the character played by Hunter Schafer, who appeared in the official reveal trailer. It remains unclear whether she is the protagonist, an NPC, or an enemy. A closer look upward through a skylight, with brightness turned to maximum, exposes another haunting figure peering through the glass. To the right, a door stands slightly ajar but is secured with a chain, hinting at further secrets.

Fans quickly drew parallels to PT, the playable teaser for the cancelled Silent Hills game released in 2014. One Reddit user commented, “Yeah so this is basically gonna be whatever he wanted PT to be isn’t it.” Another wrote, “It's giving P.T. vibes, I love it!” A third added, “We're finally getting PT, I hope.”

Collaboration with Jordan Peele

OD: Knock is a joint project between Kojima and filmmaker Jordan Peele, known for acclaimed horror films such as Get Out and Us. The game is set to be published by Xbox Game Studios, though it may also release on PlayStation consoles. However, given Xbox's recent policy shift regarding exclusives, including Gears of War E-Day and Clockwork Revolution on PS5, OD: Knock could become an Xbox console exclusive.

No release date has been announced yet.
