From Season 5 has been officially confirmed as the final season of the acclaimed sci-fi horror series. The show, which first premiered in 2022, follows Boyd Stevens (Harold Perrineau), the self-appointed sheriff of a mysterious town where residents are unable to leave. At night, they face terror from enigmatic creatures in the center and other menacing beings in the surrounding woodlands.
Season 5 Renewal and Production Status
MGM+ renewed the series for a fifth and final season in April 2026, ahead of the Season 4 premiere. Production has already begun, and the season is expected to air sometime in 2027. Like previous seasons, Season 5 will consist of 10 episodes.
In a joint statement, creator John Griffin, showrunner Jeff Pinkner, and director Jack Bender said: "We are wildly excited to announce that we've officially begun work on Season 5. Which means we will get the chance to see our story to its conclusion. Which means questions will be answered. Answers will be questioned. And there will surely be a cascade of tears and terrors in-between."

Plot Details and Final Season Story
Season 5 will finally deliver long-awaited revelations about the sinister town and what is holding the group there. Perrineau told the Radio Times that "the fun part" was the anticipation of uncovering the truth, adding: "Some of the answers, some of the clues, are so subtle that you are not going to know for a long time. When they pay off, you'll be like, 'oh, wow, that was slick'."
Creator John Griffin revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that there was a temptation to stretch the story to a sixth series, but they recognized it would serve the creatives rather than viewers. He explained: "In full transparency, five seasons was always the goal, but we always wanted to let the story tell us when it was time to end."
Season 4 Ratings and UK Availability
Season 4 currently holds a 96% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while Season 3 has a rare perfect 100% rating. The latest season concluded on MGM+ in the USA on June 28, 2026, following its April 19 premiere. UK audiences saw Season 4 begin on April 29 via Sky and NOW, with the conclusion scheduled for July 1. Season 4 consists of 10 episodes, matching previous installments.
