EA Sports has confirmed the official PC system requirements for EA FC 27, which launches on Friday, September 25. The developer has promised an improved PC experience, including faster Steam load times and a new 120fps target for high-end computers.
Minimum specifications for 60fps gameplay
The minimum requirements are designed to deliver 60fps gameplay and 30fps during cutscenes. They include a 720p resolution, Low graphics preset, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 570 GPU with 4GB VRAM, Intel Core i5-6600k or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 CPU, 8GB RAM (DDR4 dual channel), and Windows 10/11 64-bit.
All presets require DirectX 12, a broadband internet connection, and 100GB of storage. The minimum preset can run on an HDD, but other presets require an SSD.
Performance improvements and new features
EA Sports says players using Steam should see loading times improved by "around 50%" based on their testing. The developer has also reduced the number of windows and loading steps during startup. Other changes include Steam friends integration, a new VRAM indicator, and updated keyboard controls.
New Performance and Balanced graphics modes are available within new 'High' and 'Ultra' specification presets. Enhanced Ultra Visuals are off by default but can be toggled on for better visuals beyond the Ultra preset.
Steam Friends and keyboard updates
The in-game VRAM indicator in the graphics settings menu shows players how changes to settings may affect video memory usage, giving more control when deciding what settings to run. EA Sports says it is acting on player feedback about having two separate friends lists via Steam and EA.
"Previously, playing with a Steam friend who wasn’t already an EA Friend could mean manually searching for their EA ID and adding them first," EA Sports said. "With FC 27, Steam Friends are available automatically through EA Connect, making it quicker and easier to find and add them as an EA Friend before jumping into matches together."
EA Sports has also introduced a "significant update" to keyboard controls. Default layouts have been redesigned to make common actions easier to access, with players able to choose between WASD or Arrow Key layouts. New key combinations for mechanic shortcuts such as Power Shot, Player Lock and Spring Jockey are included, and controls remain customisable.
